PERIOD. @ Alleyn’s Lower School will be hosting a period poster design contest in honor of Period Action Day on Oct. 12th.
PERIOD ACTION DAY - ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS
In honor of Period Action Day, MLK Center Rock Island is hosting a week long period product drive for the community. With that being said we have partnered up with our local fitness center, library, and Public Works to establish 4 total donation sites. We also extended the event to a full week to get more social media movement.

We will be hosting a period pouch party in celebration of Period Action Day. We will invite women from our community to assist in assembling period product pouches that can be distributed to the girls/women of our community.
PERIOD ACTION DAY - NEW YORK, NY
Laila Abed, a member of the PERIOD Inc. Youth Advisory Council, is collaborating with Malikah, a renowned anti-violence organization in honor of International Day of the Girl Child & PERIOD Action Day. Together, they are planning to distribute 200 period packs containing menstrual pads to the Arab and Muslim community members in Queens, NY.
This event aims to foster a sense of sisterhood and encourage community involvement, welcoming not only menstruators but also non-menstruators to engage in meaningful conversations about menstrual health and equity. Participants are invited to learn more about Period Action Day and Malikah's initiatives, get involved through donations, or simply pick up a period pack and other informational materials. Additional goodies may be available!

Youth On Their Own will be providing basic needs items (including period products) at our Mini Mall to youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County. We will be bundling supplies into kits for the Mini Mall.
PERIOD ACTION DAY - PHILADELPHIA
Period Education Project is hosting a menstrual health workshop, called a "PEP Rally", hosted by our amazing medical students at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine. PEP Rallies are physician-created, medically-accurate workshops for young people in middle/high school that cover all the basics of menstrual health, from anatomy to phases of the menstrual cycle to period product options and safe way to use them to abnormal vs. normal menstrual patterns and more. PEP Rallies are led by trained medical students from schools all across the country.
The mission is two-fold, close knowledge gaps and de-stigmatize the topics of periods with trusted menstrual health education while giving medical students the opportunity to navigate these important conversations, serve their communities and become better future doctors.

PERIOD ACTION DAY - PUNE, INDIA
We are planning an educational session on menstrual health awareness for students in grades 8, 9, and 10 at a school in Shivane, Pune, India. The session will engage over 100 students, aiming to provide essential information on menstruation, dispel common myths, and promote open, informed discussions about menstrual health. 10 am - 11 am IST.

Join PERIOD @ Temple University at the Temple University Bell Tower from 1-3pm to advocate in support of the passing of HB-850 and HB-851. If passed, these bills will amend the Human Services Code and allow recipients of SNAP and WIC to purchase menstrual products. This will help 2 million Pennsylvania residents! Our keynote speaker will be Lynette Medley, the CEO of No More Secrets. We are also expecting to be joined by local legislators and other local youth organizations. There will be refreshments, merch, and fun activities open to all who attend.
